    Purpose @t Work was a special themed conference held week 3 (July 17 – 24, 2010) of this summer.  This week at MBC was set aside to focus on helping our guests understand the role of faith in their everyday work lives.  This was a week of inspiration, affirmation, connecting and equipping.  Whether you are a work at home mom, a corporate business leader, an entrepreneur or in ‘retirement’ – there is something here for you.

  • Richard Blackaby, President of Blackaby Ministries International
    Dr. Richard BlackabyDr. Richard Blackaby has served as the president of Blackaby Ministries International since July 2006. Richard is the oldest child of Henry and Marilynn Blackaby. He has been married to Lisa since 1983. They have three children: Mike attends Southeastern Baptist Seminary, Daniel is a third year university student at North Greenville University and Carrie is a freshman.     David Macfarlane, Director of National Initiatives Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada.

    David McFarlaneDavid Macfarlane is a dynamic and engaging communicator who’s entertaining yet challenging Bible based messages are sought after because they offer information, inspiration, application and transformation for long term growth and impact. David was born in Uruguay, Latin America, and came to Canada as an executive with the American Express Corporation before he spent over two decades on the front lines of ministry through local Canadian churches that all grew significantly through prayerful strategic outreach. Today David travels extensively and his practical, creative, and surprisingly humorous presentations and strategies have become popular with organizations and congregations who value revitilization, relevance and a desire to position themselves to “engage their world” in new ways. David and his wife Diana live in Waterloo, Ontario and have three grown daughters. Previously David served with the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada 
     

       Gerry Organ, Director of National Initiatives, Oneway Ministries

    Gerry OrganGerry is a former Grey Cup Champion (1973 and 1976) who played a total of twelve years in the Canadian League from 1971 to 1983. He chose to follow Jesus Christ in 1973 and began his own journey of faith while leading a rather chaotic life involving football, family, business and education. His early morning prayer life was established right away and he credits those times with the relative stability and ‘prosperity’ that he enjoyed. After co-founding and managing the Ottawa Athletic Club, Gerry served as a Family Counsellor, then as an associate Pastor at The Peoples Church, and as Executive Director of Christian Business Ministries Canada. He currently is engaged with One Way Ministries of Ottawa and specializes in marketplace ministry. He resides with his wife Lore, in King City, Ontario.

  •                       Rob MelnichukExecutive Producer/Host of Whatido 

     Robert Melnichuk has served for over 20 years in various positions of Pastoral leadership and management in Christian organizations. Growing up in the local church, Robert’s passion has always been to encourage the Body of Christ to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.  As the executive producer and host of the TV program Whatido, Robert profiles people who have discovered their vocational calling in Christ!  Starting September on CTS, Robert will host a live talk show engaging people in their personal destiny through Christ!  
     

                                    Michele Ronsisvalle
    Michele is a professional singer, motivational speaker, spokes-person, voice-over talent, pageant winner and television personality.  Michele’s musical endeavours extend from both her roots in the church and the entertainment industry.  Michele desires to musically lead others into a more intimate relationship with the Lord, allowing them to find true meaning and purpose in life.  For the past twenty years, Michele has also performed with an a capella group called “4 Girls Only” at venues such as Walt Disney World, Sea World, MGM and Universal Studios.                                      John Hull, President of EQUIP 

    Dr. John Hull is President of EQUIP, a nonprofit organization founded by John Maxwell in 1997 to promote leadership. Former senior pastor at People’s Church in Toronto, Hull is a frequent speaker at conferences and outreach events and has worked with organizations such as Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, Campus Crusade, Focus on the Family, and the Billy Graham School of Evangelism.

     

     

                                   

     

                                     Jim Ross, Chair, Ross-Shire Foundation

    This year Jim celebrated 50 years of being in business serving livestock producers with the vitamin mineral premixes necessary to manufacture their livestock feeds.  Four years ago Jim turned over the presidency of Grand Valley Fortifiers to his son Ian who along with David, Elaine and Jim’s second son, continue the family involvement and direction of the company.  With over 50 years of business experience Jim will tell the story of how the Lord has guided, directed, provided and blessed Grand Valley Fortifiers in good times and bad.  He will also share how the Lord has used his business to support numerous ministries and individuals in Christian work.  Finally he will take a look at retirement and what he believes God’s word teaches us about this important subject.  Jim and Elaine continue to live on the family farm in Branchton, Ontario and have four children and 12 grandchildren.
